How to Draw An Elephant

Step 1

Create an outline of the elephant’s face simply by drawing an irregular circular shape. The shape should be wider at the bottom than the top so the elephant’s cheeks come into their own.

Next, draw the torso at the bottom of the face. Draw two lines overlapping the outline with a snout on top. As shown in the illustration, an elephant’s trunk should be curved to make it look realistic to Draw An Elephant.

Step 2

Now that we’ve outlined the elephant’s face, it’s time to draw its other physical features!

On the left side of the face, draw a huge ear that goes from the head to the cheeks. It should look similar to a human ear but relatively larger if drawn correctly to Draw An Elephant.

Step 3

Repeat the previous step on the other side of the elephant ear. Try to align the ears as evenly as possible to Draw An Elephant.

Step 4

Draw a curved vertical line just below the face with a horizontal line below it to outline the elephant’s arm.

Elephants are naturally muscular. Next, make sure to plump your arms to Draw An Elephant.

Step 5

Then repeat the previous step on the other side of the elephant’s body. Make sure the elephant’s arms are straight and level to Draw An Elephant.

Step 6

On the left side of her body, draw a diagonal oval shape to outline the shape of her foot. Next, connect it to its body with curved lines.

Similar to the elephant’s arms, the elephant’s foot should also appear thick to Draw An Elephant.

Step 7

Repeat the previous step on the other side of the elephant’s body.

Step 8

Now it’s time to add texture and detail to the entire body of the elephant to make it look dimensional and realistic.

Starting from the ears, draw a line inside the ears, following the outline. This outlines the elephant’s inner ear. Next, draw three curved lines down the center of the ear to create creases in the ear to Draw An Elephant.

Step 9

Give your elephant emotion and expression by drawing his eyes.

Draw two vertical oval shapes with a small circle inside the outline. Shade the entire eyes, leaving the small circle shape unshaded. This creates a dramatic “pearl eyes” effect, making your elephant drawing even more adorable!
